Eat Consciously for Permanent Health

Your most intimate, personal and permanent relationship is with food. That is why it is crucial that we learn to eat consciously for lasting health. Food is your constant companion from the day you are born until the day you die. Therefore, it is important that this relationship is a healthy one. For most of the population, it is a relationship filled with conflict. More than 74.1% of Americans are overweight or obese.  In every other relationship when you experience conflict, you can disengage. You can withdraw from people, society, work, and church, but you are intimately and permanently locked into a relationship with food.

You Can Escape Small Portions While Consistently Losing Weight

The first time at a KFC in the United States, I asked for a small soda, then was handed a jumbo-sized cup for self-service.

I said to the lady, “I’m sorry, I asked for a small.” She said, “This is a small.”

Then I walked out with a huge Dr. Pepper in hand. Twenty minutes later, I threw it away because all the sugar and carbonation in it made me bloated. I knew then that weight loss in America would be a challenge.

Nutrition And Tradition

One of the most controversial and curious subjects in modern nutrition is the place of animal protein in a healthy diet. The evidence has been building over the past twenty years that our reliance on meat and dairy foods are a mistake. Most epidemiological studies indicate that excessive consumption of meat and dairy is a primary factor in most degenerative disease. These studies, coupled with the fact that the economic and environmental damage of the modern meat and dairy industries far outweighs its social and nutritional value, do not seem to shake the public belief that animal fats and protein are essential for a healthy diet.

Cancer Prevention with a Healthy Diet

Research Shows That a Healthy Diet Will Slow or Stop Most Cancers

I am not a Doctor and have no desire to be one.  My work is based on educating and specifically teaching prevention in our many workshops and programs.

However, I am currently seeing seven clients for health counselling.  They have terminal cancer from prostate, ovarian, brain, and breast.  All of them asked their doctor or oncologist about diet, and each and every one of these clients received the same answer:

Why I Chose “Sexy Fit Vegan”

I created my brand, Sexy Fit Vegan®, in 2013, when the truth about animal agriculture (both the ethical and health aspects) started being covered in the mainstream media. The information I had been sharing with people for years, was finally being exposed in ways that could not be ignored. But I’ve been getting some push-back on the name of my brand recently. With comments on my Facebook posts like, “Why sexy?” and “You’re a fraud, just trying to use sex to make money!” So, I’d like to take a moment to address this criticism.

Turning Stress into Strength

Every time I move it’s proven challenging. As a metaphysical teacher, I have learned enough now to know that life is not going to be perfect. Mistakes happen, life happens. Stress is part of the journey to becoming an enlightened human. As a soul, you already know how to manage stress. As a human, we are often confused, frustrated, and triggered by emotional attacks on the psyche. Those can come in many ways. Whether it’s your movers dropping your furniture, the handyman not showing up, or the rude neighbor, stranger, or even friend who sends you off in a tizzy. All those things and more happened to me just this week alone!

Vegan Fitness – Why You Can’t Outrun Your Fork

I was recently asked to give a talk about vegan fitness. I had to think about what valuable information and insights I bring to an audience…I mean, who doesn’t already know that it’s important to make consistent exercise a part of your lifestyle?

Exercise has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, starting on the swim team, gymnastic team, dance classes, and later, after my growth spurt, volleyball in high school.

CBD May Improve Your Social Connection

The great irony is that as we become increasingly connected—on social media, video calling, and messaging—we have never felt so disconnected from each other. My new book, Outsmart Your Smartphone: Conscious Tech Habits for Finding Happiness, Balance, and Connection IRL, reveals all sorts of ways we can improve our feelings of social connection while we’re online. Now I’m exploring how we reconnect to the things that really matter…and that research is what led me to discover CBD.
